The client is from Kazakhstan and is a local crane distributor. They have been purchasing lifting equipment and related components for end customers for a long time.
Previously, the client had placed orders with SEVENCRANE five times, with the main products including drums, wheels, and other crane components.
After multiple collaborations, the client was quite satisfied with our product quality and service. This time, the client brought new project requirements: to purchase an 8-ton double girder gantry crane for their Russian end customer.
Unlike component procurement, this time it is a complete crane equipment, which requires comprehensive consideration of structural design, operating conditions, supporting components, and compatibility with the customer’s self-made grab.
This equipment is ultimately used for the project of the Russian customer. The main requirements include:
Lifting capacity: 8 tons.
Operating environment: Outdoor.
Span: 32 meters.
Left and right cantilevers: each 12 meters.
Main steel: Q355E.
Complementary requirements: complete lifting equipment components.
Key components: The gearbox and engine require products manufactured in Russia.
In addition, the end customer plans to manufacture the grab themselves and use it in conjunction with the gantry crane. Therefore, the gantry crane not only needs to meet the basic lifting requirements but also needs to consider the usage requirements of the grab and the compatibility between the two. This equipment is customized based on specific working conditions.
One of the important technical features of this project is the span and cantilever requirements.
The client needs a 32-meter span and 12-meter cantilevers on both sides. These conditions impose higher requirements on the overall structure, bearing capacity, and force design of the crane.
Therefore, the project adopts the grúa pórtico de dos vigas solution instead of directly applying the conventional single beam portal crane configuration.
For such non-standard equipment, the structure form cannot be determined solely based on the 8-ton lifting capacity. Span, cantilever, operating environment, operating requirements, and grab matching conditions all need to be evaluated together.
Comparado con el ordinario grúa pórtico projects, this order has a special requirement: the client will manufacture the grab themselves and use it in conjunction with the crane.
This means that the equipment solution needs to consider the relevant parameters and actual usage methods of the grab to ensure that the crane and the customer’s subsequent manufactured grab can work in coordination.
Therefore, during the solution confirmation process, both parties need to repeatedly check the relevant parameters and drawings to avoid only focusing on the machine itself while ignoring the final requirements for the final use.
In addition to the main structure and grab fitting requirements, the client also explicitly stated that the gearbox and engine must be products manufactured in Russia.
At the same time, the client wants to purchase an additional complete set of lifting equipment components.
SEVENCRANE, based on the conditions proposed by the client, repeatedly confirmed parameters and drawings with the client and sent quotations and related project cases to help the client further evaluate the solution.
The client requires a delivery period of two months and proposes to take photos during assembly after production.
For customized gantry crane projects, the delivery period, production arrangement, and final acceptance methods need to be clearly defined in advance so that the client can grasp the project progress.
Assembly and photo-taking are standard procedures in the factory. Through the overall assembly and photo-taking after production completion, the client can view the overall condition of the equipment and provide references for subsequent confirmation and shipment.
In response to the customer’s requirements, we confirmed that the relevant arrangements could meet the project’s needs.
In June, the customer visited the SEVENCRANE factory for a site visit.
Before making the purchasing decision, the customer also inspected and compared the two suppliers, DeGong and Mines. After comparison, the customer ultimately chose SEVENCRANE and completed the order payment.
This choice was based on the previous five times of parts procurement cooperation between the two parties, as well as the coordination of technical communication, drawing confirmation, and delivery requirements in this project.
For complete machine projects involving complex structures and multiple special requirements, the customer needs to consider the technical solution, supply scope, delivery time, and the supplier’s execution ability comprehensively.
This project was not a simple standard grúa pórtico de dos vigas procurement. The equipment needed to meet multiple customized requirements.
Through multiple rounds of parameter and drawing confirmation, quotations, case sharing, and confirmation of delivery cycle and assembly and photography requirements after production, both parties gradually advanced the project.
After completing the previous five times of parts procurement, the customer chose SEVENCRANE to purchase the gantry crane again and completed the order payment after visiting multiple suppliers.
This case demonstrates the value of long-term customer relationships and also shows that for customized equipment projects with complex technical requirements, professional technology and prompt response are important links in promoting cooperation.
