In June 2025, a customer from Peru first contacted us through Facebook with an inquiry for two European type single girder overhead cranes for use in their workshop. The customer was looking for reliable lifting equipment to improve handling efficiency in their production facility. After receiving the inquiry, our sales team quickly communicated with the customer to confirm the required lifting capacity, span, lifting height, and working conditions, then prepared a detailed quotation and technical proposal.

Although the customer showed interest in the initial offer, there was no feedback after the quotation was sent. From July to September, we continued following up through messages and emails, but the customer did not respond. Even though there was no progress during that period, we maintained contact and kept the customer informed about our company updates and upcoming events.

In September, our company participated in an industrial exhibition in Peru and invited the customer to visit our booth. During the preparation for the exhibition, we discovered that the customer’s company would also be attending as an exhibitor. This created a valuable opportunity for face-to-face communication. At the exhibition, our sales team met the customer in person and later visited their booth to discuss their lifting equipment requirements in detail.

During the meeting, the customer explained that the previous crane project had already been purchased from another Chinese supplier, mainly because of pricing considerations. Although we had lost the first opportunity, the visit helped us build direct trust with the customer and opened the door for discussing a new overhead crane project. The customer introduced a new requirement for another bridge crane system, and based on the updated specifications, we promptly prepared a new quotation and technical solution.

After reviewing our offer, the customer sent us a quotation from another crane supplier and requested a price reduction. To better understand the competitive situation, we asked for the competitor’s quotation details. After reviewing it carefully, we found that the price gap between our offer and the competitor’s was actually quite small. To show our sincerity and strengthen our chances of cooperation, we adjusted our quotation to match the competitor’s price and quickly issued an updated quotation and proforma invoice.

The customer appreciated our flexibility and transparent pricing approach. On November 14, the customer confirmed that they would proceed with the order. Just three days later, on November 17, we officially received the purchase order, and on November 21, the customer completed the payment.

This successful cooperation with the customer in Peru demonstrated the importance of persistent follow-up, face-to-face communication, and flexible commercial support. Although the first project was lost, our commitment and professionalism helped us secure the new order for a 5-ton single girder overhead crane, laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation in the Peruvian market.
