In October 2025, SEVENCRANE received an inquiry through Alibaba from a customer in Hong Kong regarding a double girder overhead crane project. Shortly after the initial contact, our sales team connected with the customer via WeChat, where the customer shared preliminary drawings and project requirements for a new workshop facility.
After reviewing the information, we learned that the customer was not only looking for an overhead crane but also needed a complete steel structure workshop solution. Rather than simply supplying lifting equipment, SEVENCRANE proposed a one-stop solution that included both the steel structure building and the overhead crane system. This integrated approach would help ensure compatibility between the crane and the building structure while simplifying project management for the customer.
To provide an accurate proposal, our sales and engineering teams worked closely with the customer to confirm key technical details, including workshop dimensions, lifting capacity, span, lifting height, and future production requirements. Once the basic information was finalized, our engineers began designing the steel structure layout and crane configuration.
After the initial drawings were completed, they were submitted to the customer for review. During the evaluation process, the customer proposed several modifications related to the workshop layout and operational requirements. Our engineering team carefully analyzed each request and promptly revised the drawings to optimize the design. The updated plans were then resubmitted for approval. The customer’s satisfaction with our responsiveness and technical support helped strengthen confidence in the project.
Once the design was finalized, we provided a comprehensive quotation covering both the steel structure workshop and the overhead crane system. To further demonstrate our capabilities, we shared successful project references, including feedback and installation photos from a steel structure project completed in Mexico. These real-world cases helped the customer better understand SEVENCRANE’s experience with large-scale integrated projects.
After reviewing the proposal, the customer informed us that our technical solution met all project requirements. However, one important issue remained unresolved: the payment terms. The customer requested that 5% of the contract value be retained as a warranty payment and released only after receiving the goods. Since this payment structure differed from our standard terms, both parties entered detailed discussions to find a mutually acceptable solution.
For more than a week, the payment conditions were carefully negotiated. To facilitate communication, our sales manager personally joined discussions and conducted a direct phone call with the customer’s management team. Through open and professional communication, both sides reached an agreement on the final payment arrangement that balanced project security with commercial practicality.
Following the successful resolution of the payment terms, the customer officially confirmed the order. A Proforma Invoice was issued, and the project moved forward smoothly. By combining steel structure design, crane expertise, and dedicated customer service, we successfully transformed a simple crane inquiry into a comprehensive turnkey project for our customer in Hong Kong.
Product Features
♦Fast Construction and Short Project Cycle
Steel structure buildings are manufactured using prefabricated components that are produced in the factory and assembled on-site. This construction method significantly reduces installation time compared to traditional concrete structures. Faster construction means projects can be completed and put into operation sooner, helping businesses reduce downtime and accelerate production schedules. The simplified installation process also minimizes labor requirements and improves overall project efficiency.
♦Flexible Design and Easy Expansion
One of the major advantages of steel structures is their exceptional design flexibility. Building layouts can be customized according to production requirements, equipment placement, storage needs, and future expansion plans. Large clear spans can be achieved without excessive internal columns, creating more usable workspace. In addition, steel buildings can be modified, expanded, or upgraded more easily than conventional structures, allowing businesses to adapt to changing operational demands over time.
♦Lightweight Structure and Lower Foundation Costs
Compared with reinforced concrete buildings, steel structures have a much lower self-weight while maintaining excellent strength and durability. The lighter structural load reduces foundation requirements, helping lower construction costs and shorten foundation work schedules. This advantage is particularly valuable in areas with soft soil conditions or locations where minimizing ground pressure is important. The reduced weight also makes steel buildings more suitable for projects requiring future relocation or expansion.
♦Excellent Seismic and Wind Resistance
Steel structures offer outstanding performance in regions exposed to earthquakes, strong winds, and other extreme environmental conditions. The inherent flexibility and ductility of steel allow the building to absorb and dissipate energy more effectively during seismic events, reducing the risk of structural damage. This enhanced safety performance makes steel structure buildings an ideal choice for factories, warehouses, logistics centers, and other industrial facilities where operational continuity and personnel safety are critical.
♦High Strength and Long Service Life
Steel structure buildings provide an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, enabling them to support heavy equipment, overhead cranes, and industrial production systems. With proper surface treatment and maintenance, steel structures offer long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and reliable performance. This results in lower maintenance costs and a longer service life, providing excellent value for industrial and commercial investments.
